Today Head Gardener Benjamin Pope, will lead
us through the established gardens of a private
property in West Sussex.
Set in the rolling countryside, the garden spans eight
or nine acres, beautifully restored by the current
owners and Head Gardener, together with the
renowned garden designer Arne Maynard.
Within the garden there are both formal and informal
spaces, woven together with a mixture of topiary,
hedges, ancient trees and old buildings. The overall
planting style is relaxed and romantic, although it
changes to suit or enhance the particular space
that it occupies as you move around the garden.
Traditional border plants rub shoulders with roses
and annuals to create both a visual display and
scented experience.
At the garden’s heart is a one-and-a-half acre
walled garden, where Ben and his team grow fruit,
vegetables, cut flowers and plants for the house and
garden. Packed full of unusual varieties, design
detail and interesting growing methods, this garden
is sure to give you inspiration and ideas for your own
space.
After our garden tour we will depart to a nearby
eatery for lunch.

If you are interested in this event, we are also holding another exclusive Special Event with Arne Maynard himself in his own garden at Allt-y-bela. Click here for more info.
