Nestled within four-acres of mature award-winning gardens, these beautiful grounds are an integral feature of The Bath Priory and all just a short walk away from the city centre.
Head Gardener Jane Moore will guide our guests around the classic English garden with billowing herbaceous borders and mixed borders of shrubs, bulbs and perennials edging the croquet lawn. Guests will visit the kitchen garden, containing 21 raised beds packed with fruits, vegetables and herbs, which acts as a vital resource for Head Chef Michael Nizzero, providing inspiration for his impossibly elegant dishes that will be sampled at lunch!
The Priory hotel is now home to a National Collection of Cotinus or smoke bush as well as a number of unusual and specimen plants. Building on the evergreen backbone of the garden, Jane has introduced seasonal flourishes of colour to ensure that there is always something for the guests to enjoy at any time of the year.
Jane is well respected in the horticultural world as an innovative gardener with a broad knowledge of plants and has received many accolades including a RHS Chelsea Flower Show medal in 2003, the Garden Media Guild Journalist of the Year award in 2007, finalist as Columnist of the year in 2015 and Practical Journalist in 2016. Recently, Jane has filmed with the BBC as a guest presenter on Gardeners’ World and appeared on stage at BBC Countryfile Live.
After our fascinating tour, lunch will be served at the Priory’s celebrated Michelin-starred restaurant with magnificent views across the garden.
