JOB TITLE: Fundraising Assistant (Marketing & Development)
REPORTS TO: Senior Development Manager
BASED: Perennial Head Office, Leatherhead, Surrey
TERMS: £23-25k pa depending on skills and experience. Permanent contract. Full time (35 hrs) per week role although shorter/flexible working hours may be considered.
JOB PURPOSE: To assist The Development Team in the delivery of their fundraising strategy by providing high quality administrative support. Additional duties in support of activities generated by the Marketing and Development team.
KEY RELATIONSHIPS: Staff and volunteers throughout the charity. Supporters and donors – both members of the general public and those employed in, and associated with, the horticultural industry.
Perennial is the UK’s only charity dedicated to helping people who work in or have retired from horticulture, in their time of need.
We provide free, confidential advice and support and financial assistance to them, their spouses, partners and children. Support generally relates to disability, physical or mental ill health, debt management, financial hardship, retirement and old age.
Our service is delivered by an excellent team of highly trained, professional Caseworkers and Debt Advisors who visit people in their own homes and help them to get back onto their feet.
It’s the responsibility of Perennial’s Marketing and Development Team to both raise awareness of the charity, and generate substantial, sustainable income via various fundraising streams. The Fundraising Assistant will work as part of this team, focussing on fundraising from businesses and individuals working in the trade, grants and trusts, major donor stewardship and gifts in wills.
