A wonderful opportunity to explore three of Herefordshire’s best-loved treasures.
Enjoy dinner, bed & breakfast for four at Kentchurch Court, considered to be one of the most important historic houses in England and also the ancestral home of the Scudamore family. Kentchurch forms part of a wider estate covering some 5,000 acres and nestles under Garway Hill in the Monnow Valley in the heart of one of the country’s oldest deer parks.
A private visit to the renowned Laskett Gardens. Above all, this is an intensely personal garden, telling the story of Sir Roy’s life as an art historian, administrator and author, and of the 40 years he spent making the garden, constantly debating and improving it with his late wife, Julia Trevelyan Oman. Many would say that when we look back on his contribution to cultural life in England and abroad, The Laskett will rank among his greatest achievements. After your wander come into the house for drinks or tea (depending on the time of day!) with Sir Roy.

Large herbaceous borders (created with the help of the local farmer’s tractor), wooded areas, ponds and an alpine house provide numerous habitats for a large collection of unusual and rare plants as well as a wide variety of old favourites. A plantsman’s paradise!
