Head Gardener Andy Spreadbury has worked hard on the gardens to create an environment with a sense of fun and understated theatre. The gardens are divided into 26 distinct ‘rooms’. Natural elements of the garden such as vistas, the river and woodland, have been sensitively incorporated into the more formal elements for maximum effect.
There is a kitchen garden filled with seasonal herbs and vegetables for alfresco dining. The herbaceous garden’s manicured lawns are flanked by stone-paved pathways that draw guests past a fountain and pool to a Cotswold stone gazebo. A rose garden is enclosed with stone walls and features an elegant fountain, providing movement and two corner arbours. The loggia garden is a focal point of tranquility with a contemporary sculpture in the centre of the pond. The hot garden is inspired by more tropical climates, full of vibrant colour combinations including hot reds, burnt oranges and dark chocolate.
