Tickets are now on sale for the annual Party for Perennial, which will take place on Friday 15 January 2016. The event kicks off HortAid 2016, Perennial’s year-long fundraising campaign and is an opportunity to join friends and colleagues from across the horticulture industry for a fantastic evening of networking, fun and fundraising. It will be held at Skyloft at the top of the Millbank Tower, offering spectacular views over the River Thames and London skyline, setting the scene for a wonderful evening.
The Party for Perennial is now a highly popular industry fixture, having been reinstated following the charity’s 175th anniversary in 2014, reviving the organisation’s Victorian tradition of an annual fundraising event. The last party raised over £20,000, providing an excellent start to the HortAid campaign. The 2016 party is set to be even bigger and better, with a great line up of music and entertainment including a six piece live band. The ticket price includes a glass of bubbly and delicious bowl food and there are many exciting prizes to be won in the raffle and auction hosted by Andrew Fisher-Tomlin.
Anita Bates, Director of Marketing and Development at Perennial, said:
“Judging by the success of the last party, we know how much people enjoy having the chance to get together with friends and colleagues during the winter season when many horticulture businesses are less busy. It is a great opportunity for networking, but most of all it is a chance for people to proactively support their trade charity. Tickets are already selling fast so do not delay in securing your entry to the party of the year.”
All funds raised through ticket sales and the auction and raffle will help support all UK horticulturists, retired and of working age, and their families, who come to Perennial for help. As the only charity that helps individuals from all sectors of the horticulture industry, Perennial makes a massive difference to people’s lives when they have nowhere else to turn.
Garden designer and auctioneer for the event, Andrew Fisher Tomlin comments:
“It is great to be involved with the Party for Perennial which is sure to be a fantastic evening in an impressive venue. The more people that come along, the more vital funds will be raised for Perennial, so why not get a group together and celebrate the start of the New Year with a bang?”
A spectacular event such as this is not possible without support – thanks to the generosity of our sponsors: the Horticultural Trades Association (HTA), Bulldog Tools, Bullrush, CED Stone Group and the Landscape Show. There are still opportunities for more sponsors to get involved at various levels, similarly donations of prizes for the auction and raffle are welcome. NOTES FOR EDITORS:
Perennial offers free, confidential advice and support to everyone working in or retired from horticulture and their families, including gardeners, landscapers, nursery and garden centre staff, parks and grounds care staff and tree surgeons. People turn to Perennial for financial and emotional help in times of need because of disability, sickness, poverty, financial hardship and old age – although increasingly younger people are seeking their assistance. Many individuals describe the services Perennial offers as a ‘lifeline’. The work of Perennial depends entirely on voluntary donations from the horticultural industry and the garden-loving public.
