Support at Christmas
We can help anyone in horticulture during the festive period
Christmas should be a time of fun and festivities for everyone working in horticulture but often the reality is very different which can lead to feelings of stress, anxiety and loneliness. Many people feel added pressure at this time of year with more demands on their already stretched financial resources, anxiety about meeting everyone’s expectations or feelings of isolation from those around them. If you are struggling in the lead up to Christmas, you are not alone. You can contact us on 0800 093 8543 for help and advice.
We can support individuals and families working in horticulture who are struggling with unexpected or life changing events such as redundancy or health issues. We can help towards extra food costs or gifts for children who would otherwise go without, and help you access other sources of support depending on your situation. During this festive period and beyond we can help with budgeting advice, managing debt, accessing statutory financial support and working with local sources of voluntary support.
How we help
If you need a financial safety net this Christmas we can help with:
✔ Gifts for children who would otherwise go without
✔ Christmas food
Who we help
We help people working in any area of the UK horticulture industry. You can ask for help if you are working or if you have now retired from the industry and if one of the following applies to you:
✔ You have an annual household income below £30,000 (gross) and/or are in receipt of means tested benefits
✔ You have experienced an unexpected crisis or life-changing event
If one of the above applies, you must:
✔ be able to demonstrate the difference funds would make
✔ provide evidence of household income / benefits
✔ be living in the UK and are eligible to work and apply for public funds
