Perennial is looking for Friends at RHS Malvern Spring Festival 5 – 8 May 2016

Visitors to the RHS Malvern Spring Festival (5 – 8 May 2016) at Three Counties Showground at the foot of the Malvern Hills, Worcestershire, are encouraged to join the Friends of Perennial scheme and show support for the thousands of UK horticulturists who work tirelessly to keep our gardens and green spaces looking beautiful. Perennial is working in partnership with Jon Wheatley and his team to stage the new Get Going, Get Growing theatre, which will feature talks and demonstrations from well-known gardening experts throughout the show.

Chris Crooker, Events Manager at Perennial, says:

“Our partnership with Jon and the Three Counties team is a real opportunity for us to introduce the work of Perennial to show visitors and to encourage them to support our work. The help Perennial provides is often described simply as a ‘lifeline’ by the people we support and it will be fantastic to be able to tell visitors at RHS Malvern Spring Festival about how they can make a difference to lives by joining as a Friend.”

The Get Going, Get Growing theatre will feature talks from a host of gardening celebrities including Alan Titchmarsh, President of Perennial and other Perennial supporters Joe Swift, Christine Walkden, Jim Buttress and Chris Collins.

Ken Nottage, CEO of Three Counties, says:

“We’re thrilled to be working more closely with Perennial this year to put on what promises to be a really lovely show feature. Our visitors relish the opportunity to hear well-known gardening experts speak about their love of plants and gardens and it will be fantastic to have a link with the only charity in the UK offering help, advice and support to people who work in the industry. We hope the relationship between Three Counties and Perennial continues to blossom.”

Perennial is the only charity in the UK dedicated to supporting all those who work in or are retired from horticulture and relies on the support of the public to continue helping people with financial and social advice and support. Single Friends of Perennial membership is £25 a year and joint membership £40. Friends enjoy priority booking for Perennial’s popular special events programme, special offers on a range of Perennial gifts and products, free tickets to visit York Garden Garden in Leeds or Fullers Mill Garden in Suffolk and a range of regular news and information about the work of the charity.
