Perennial were delighted to be the Charity Partner at the prestigious Society of Garden Designers (SGD) awards held at The Millennium Gloucester Hotel in London on Friday 30th January. The event celebrated the enormous talent of the SGD members, with some truly inspirational gardens.
Perennial supports a broad range of horticulturists, including designers. Perennial’s Development Manager, Kate O’Shea, was invited to speak on the night to raise awareness of Perennial’s services and to ask for support. On the night SGD members donated a fantastic £1593, and pledged further support in challenge events and fundraisers for 2015.
This sum of money could pay for … 10 sessions at nursery for the baby of a client who is critically ill, 10 counselling sessions for a client following traumatic bereavement, 500 litres of heating oil to keep a rurally located family warm and able to cook, buy a new bed for a horticulturist sleeping on the floor and buy a carpet for a horticulturist who was previously homeless. (Information based on previous examples of how such an amount has been spent in the past).
Kate O’Shea said, “It was fantastic to be able to represent Perennial at the awards last week. We have enjoyed a close working relationship with the SGD for some years now and we look forward to continuing to work with them to raise awareness of our services, and funds for our clients. A huge thank you to those who donated or offered their support on the night.”
Please contact Kate O’Shea or Laura Garnett, to talk about ways in which you might support Perennial this year from opening your garden to taking part in a challenge event. Perennial can help you set up and promote your fundraising ideas.
