Worshipful Company of Gardeners renews Diamond Perennial Partnership on #GivingTuesday

Perennial is delighted to announce that the Worshipful Company of Gardeners, one of the oldest livery companies of the City of London, has renewed its annual Diamond level Perennial Partnership.

Paul Rochford, Master, Worshipful Company of Gardeners, (pictured above with WCoG Clerk, Major Jeremy Herrtage) says,

“I am delighted that the Worshipful Company of Gardeners has decided once again to make a donation of £5,000 to support  Perennial, the Gardeners Royal Benevolent Society. Perennial is a charity with a proud heritage, that has been helping horticulturists since 1839, offering free confidential advice, support and financial assistance. I believe supporting Perennial fits with our own charitable aims and activities and we hope to be able to share more information about this charity with our Liverymen and Freemen in due course.”

Kate O’Shea, Development Manager at Perennial says,

“ This donation makes the Worshipful Company of Gardeners a Diamond Perennial Partner. Perennial looks to the world of horticulture, the garden loving public and organisations such as the Worshipful Company of Gardeners to support its work. We are seeing more clients every year, with 1,316 clients in 2015, an increase of 14% over 2014. Our clients come from all areas of horticulture, and we help them and their family for as long as our help is needed. This is why donations such as this one from the Worshipful Company of Gardeners are so important. This significant donation will help to transform lives.”

The news comes on #GivingTuesday – a phenomenon that began on social media in 2014 as a response to the ‘Black Friday’ and ‘Cyber Monday’ shopping days. #GivingTuesday aims to promote the good work of charitable organisations across the world and Perennial is pleased to help promote its message with information about how it supports horticulturists across the UK and how support from the UK horticulture industry enables the charity to continue its work.

The Perennial Partnership scheme encourages annual support of Perennial at a level to suit every size of organisation working in and with the UK horticulture industry. Find out more about Perennial Partners here and consider joining its growing number of members.
