RHS Partner Garden of the Year Competition 2026

The RHS Partner Garden of the Year Competition 2026 invites you to celebrate the gardens that bring nature to life in exciting and imaginative ways. From planting schemes bursting with seasonal colour to clever projects that support local wildlife, selected RHS Partner Gardens have shared how they champion nature in the garden.

The Sand Garden at York Gate Garden is a remarkable wildlife habitat set among ponds, meadow and woodland. Its warm, free draining surfaces have formed an extensive bee bank where ground nesting bees thrive. The open sand between sandstone boulders creates a perfect basking spot for spiders, grasshoppers and solitary wasps. Wagtails weave through the space, bringing movement and sound. It is a simple yet captivating landscape alive with quiet activity.

If you have visited York Gate Garden, whether you are an RHS Member, a regular garden explorer or simply enjoy discovering green spaces. Cast your vote online and share what makes our garden special to you.

Dr Tim Upson, Director of Gardens and Horticulture says: “RHS Partner Gardens are on the frontline of supporting biodiversity through their planting and wildlife projects. This year we are delighted to be celebrating how they champion nature in our annual competition.”
