Draw & Explore The Laskett with artist Brian Griffiths

A relaxing day workshop to include:

A morning of demonstration and tuition in the conservatory followed by individualised support while sketching in the garden.

Bring your own picnic lunch and enjoy private access to The Laskett’s 4-acre beautiful historic gardens.

Suitable for all levels - complete beginner to experienced artists, tuition will be tailored to suit every need.

The morning session will include demonstrations in the conservatory.
Using pencil and monotone watercolour to keep it simple, we will explore 

• Planning your drawing and composition
• Simple perspective with line and tone
• Tips and hints on how to sketch
• How to paint foliage and trees
• Light and shade in your drawing

Coffee and tea provided by Laskett, please bring your own picnic lunch

Weather permitting we can go out into the garden in the afternoon and draw or if you prefer, do some plant portraits in the conservatory. Wherever you choose to work Brian will be on hand to help and guide you.

Materials you'll need:

• Pencil
• Watercolour and palette
• Watercolour paper or good quality cartridge paper such as 300grm. 'Snowdon' or 'Seawhite.'
• Drawing board
• Brushes and water pot

The above equipment can be supplied, we will be in touch once you have made your booking to check requirements with you. Paper and paint will be and additional £5, payable on the day (cash preferred).
