Open House & Gardener’s Q&A
Fetcham Park’s garden was the final completed work of celebrated gardener George London (1640-1714), considered one of history’s greatest garden designers. Surprisingly, after 300 years, an original avenue of trees still remains from the original garden. During this event the stunning Grade II* listed mansion and grounds will be open to guests to also explore its elaborate plasterwork, decorative gold leaf, and original murals by royal artist Louis Laguerre. Then local historian, Vivien White, will give a brief overview of the garden’s history after which guests can enjoy a lively interactive question and answer session with local gardening experts, chaired by BBC Radio Kent gardener Jean Griffin.
