Planning for your career future isn't reserved for a select few - it's an adventure open to each and every one of you. I’m a master career coach and I see so many people who think they’re just not in control of their career, take those small steps that can lead to the biggest change.

It's time to put your thinking cap on and embrace what is an exciting journey to plan for your career future. I’m here to guide you through the process of charting a path to make the changes in your work life you dream about. So grab a cup of coffee and read on to start crafting the blueprint to make those powerful, but easier than you think, changes to your career.

Planning for the future can feel like staring at a blank canvas. Where do you start?

Don't worry - small steps are the secret to creating big success. Remember, Rome wasn't built in a day, and your dream career won't magically materialise overnight. It's about taking small, consistent and focused actions that propel you forward.

First things first.

Take a moment to reflect on where you are now and where you want to be. What are your interests, strengths, and aspirations? What makes your heart skip a beat when you think about it? Identify those key areas that truly light your fire and let them guide you.

Once you've pinpointed what makes you tick in your career, it’s time to make a plan – think of it like plotting the GPS coordinates needed to reach your dream job. Break down your big goals into smaller, manageable steps. Maybe it's taking an online course, connecting with people who do the work you are interested in, or volunteering to get hands-on experience. Whatever it is, sketch out a roadmap that leads you closer to the job you really want.

You might be thinking, "Can I really achieve this?"

Absolutely! You have the power within you to make it happen. Believe in your abilities, embrace all you have to offer - a positive attitude and a willingness to learn is all you need to make this happen, and then trust the process. Your career dreams may seem big, but with dedication and perseverance, you can achieve your goals.

Now, let's talk about learning and developing your skills.

Some people believe that it's all about formal education, but here's a little secret - it can also be informal, such as watching industry videos on youtube, attending workshops, taking a free course online, or even learning from mentors. Every little nugget of knowledge counts, so don't be afraid to mix and match your learning journey.

So, why not make this your time to seize the opportunity to take control and start taking some small steps towards your ideal career today. Own it, shape it, and let your actions and determination guide you to build the future you deserve. Take a look at ways Perennial can help.
