He allowed Perennial to use Hever Castle for the Firewalk fundraising event in 2024 and has given many talks via the Perennial Speaker Panel for donations. Neil also consistently donates wonderful auction prizes notably Hever Castle packages, one of which appears in today’s auction so please Dig Deep for a really memorable stay.
Neil has frequently volunteered at Hampton Court and Chelsea and has often rallied members of the Hever Castle Gardening Team to join him in supporting Perennial’s work, demonstrating the true spirit of teamwork and community.
What makes Neil’s contribution so special is the passion he brings to everything he does. His enthusiasm for Perennial is infectious, inspiring others to get involved and spreading awareness far and wide. Whether speaking, volunteering, or even fundraising through adventurous challenges such as descending the ArcelorMittal Orbit at the Olympic Park, Neil has shown creativity, energy, and dedication in every endeavour.
This award is a well-deserved recognition of his tireless commitment to Perennial and the people they help.
Upon receiving his award, Neil commented: "It was a real hour and surprise to receive a Silver Shovel Spotlight Award, I have to admit that supporting Perennial for many many years has been a real joy, more importantly fun and even sometimes scary!! Abseiling down the UK’s tallest Sculpture, the Acelormittal orbit at the Olympic Park was no mean task, but knowing I was doing something that would help fellow colleagues gave me a real buzz and got me through it!! I can honestly say that I feel an integral part of the wonderful Perennial family and knowing that support and advice is always on hand is great comfort to many."
