Enjoy a guided tour of the beautiful gardens at Birtsmorton Court, set within the grounds of a stunning Grade I-listed manor on a rare double-moated site. While the 13th-century house provides a historic backdrop, the tour itself explores the surrounding gardens.
Begin on the top lawn, where sweeping views take in the White Garden, elegant topiary, and the ancient Wolsey tree—linked to Cardinal Wolsey’s eerie premonition. The White Garden, designed by owner and guide Rosalie Dawes in 1997, features arches of Iceberg roses, jasmine, clematis and wisteria, with a central gazebo framed by white-flowering shrubs and perennials.
Beyond the walls lies the Potager, a formal kitchen garden divided into four square plots edged with espaliered apple and pear trees. Here, ornamental planting is combined with rotating vegetable crops to ensure year-round interest.
Arrival refreshments and a light buffet lunch are included, offering a relaxed and inspiring experience for garden lovers.
