Firewalk event terms and conditions

1. Introduction 

Welcome to the Perennial Firewalk Fundraising Event. By participating in this event, you agree to comply with the following terms and conditions. Please read them carefully before registering. 


2. Registration and participation 


2.1 Eligibility: Anyone over the age of 18 years who can walk at a controlled pace can take part in the firewalk. 

2.2 Registration: All participants must complete the registration process and pay the £25 registration fee. 

2.3 Health and safety: By registering, you confirm that you are physically fit and do not suffer from any medical condition that may be aggravated by participating in the firewalk. 


3. Fundraising commitment 


3.1 Fundraising target: Participants will pledge to raise £150 in sponsorship. Your entry fee only covers the costs of the event, so your sponsorship really is important to ensure we can continue to directly support all those who need our support. 


4. Event details 

4.1 Date and location: The event will take place on the 18th October at Hever Castle.

4.2 Schedule: Participants to arrive at least one hour before the scheduled start time for a mandatory safety briefing. 


5. Safety and conduct 


5.1 Safety briefing: Attendance at the safety briefing is compulsory. Unfortunately, participants who miss the briefing will not be allowed to participate in the firewalk. 

5.2 Conduct: Participants must follow all instructions given by the event organisers and staff. 

5.3 Footwear: Participants must walk barefoot over the fire. No shoes, socks, or any form of foot covering is allowed. 


6. Waiver and release 


6.1 Assumption of risk: By participating, you acknowledge and accept the risks associated with firewalking, including but not limited to burns, injuries, or other physical harm. 

6.2 Release of liability: You agree to release, waive, and discharge Perennial, its staff, volunteers, and affiliates from any claims, demands, or liabilities arising from your participation in the event. 


7. Media and photography 


7.1 Consent: By participating, you consent to being photographed and filmed during the event. 

7.2 Usage: Perennial reserves the right to use any photographs or video footage for promotional and marketing purposes. 


8. Cancellation and changes 


8.1 Event cancellation: Perennial reserves the right to cancel or reschedule the event due to unforeseen circumstances (including but not limited to weather conditions) in which case a full refund will be made. Perennial also reserves the right to vary the advertised programme and facilities if necessary.  

8.2 Refund policy: The booking fee of £25 is non-refundable. However, we will be able to issue a refund to any donations made by your supporters on the Just Giving Platform. If a participant does not attend, money cannot be refunded. 


9. Data protection 


9.1 Personal information: Your personal information will be used solely for the purpose of administering the event and will be handled in accordance with Perennial's privacy policy. 

9.2 Communication: By registering, you agree to receive communications from Perennial regarding the event and related fundraising activities. 
 

10. Acceptance of terms 


By registering for the Perennial Firewalk Fundraising Event, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these terms and conditions.
