Visitor Experience Coordinator at The Laskett Garden

The Laskett Garden, Laskett Lane, Much Birch, Herefordshire, HR2 8HZ | Part-Time | £12.31 per hour

We are looking for an additional member of staff to join our friendly team during the open season, to help with the smooth running of our visitor experience and operations at the Laskett Garden.

7 month Fixed-Term contract

Overall Purpose

You will be responsible for all aspects of our visitor experience at The Laskett Garden, undertaking activities relating to our visitor experience including; bookings, tea room, gift shop, management of our volunteers and facilitating events.

The role will involve tasks relating to admission of visitors, stock control for our catering provision and gift shop, using POS tills, handling cash and organising volunteer rotas to cover public opening times.

Key Responsibilities

  • To be proactive and efficiently undertake a range of general tasks, including but not limited to:
    • Coordinating calendars and liaising with visitors to arrange individual and group bookings
    • Arranging volunteer rotas to ensure sufficient cover when open to the public
    • Overseeing the ordering of all tearoom supplies
    • Liaising with Leatherhead office staff to ensure gift shop merchandise is well stocked and relevant
    • Welcoming visitors and members to the site via the admissions system
    • Coordinating and facilitating on site events for visitors and private guests
    • Promoting Perennial and our membership scheme
    • Using POS Tills and handling cash in the gift shop and tea room
  • To manage volunteers on a day-to-day basis, working alongside them to ensure the day runs smoothly.
  • Work with teams across Perennial to ensure consistency and effectiveness of communication.
  • To work in accordance with Perennial policies including Health and Safety, and equal opportunities.
  • To undertake other duties as required for the smooth operation of The Laskett.

Salary: £12.31 per hour

Start Date: Late March/Early April

General Hours of work (flexibility required on occasion):

  • Tuesday 10.00am – 5.30pm (30 minute unpaid lunch break)
  • Wednesday 10.00am – 5.30pm (30 minute unpaid lunch break)
  • Thursday 10.00am – 5.30pm (30 minute unpaid lunch break)
  • Possibility of occasional weekend working

Pension: The Charity offers a pension scheme in line with the Pensions Act 2008 regarding auto-enrolment.

Holidays: 25 days per annum plus Bank holidays, pro-rata for part-time

General: Sick pay; death in service benefit (3 x salary); Perennial has a number of well- established flexible working policies including ‘buying’ extra (unpaid) leave, time off for dependents, variations to normal working hours.

General Considerations: All posts within the Charity are subject to a probationary period (6 months) and periodic review.

Smoking: The Charity operates a non-smoking/vaping policy on its premises and in company vehicles.
