As a thank you for being a Friend of York Gate, you are welcome to visit the garden during special members only Friends’ openings. It is a chance to experience the garden as if it was all your own in peace and tranquility.
On these exclusive Friends’ events you are welcome to bring one adult guests (plus children) with you free of charge. If you wish to bring more people than this, they will be very welcome but we ask for the normal entrance fee (£6.00) for the additional adults.

York Gate is now closed undergoing redevelopment works and will reopen on 1 April 2020. Therefore, we will not have a Christmas week or Snowdrop week this year.
Garden and gift shop opening times

Cafe opening times
Cafe open all year from April 2020 | Wed – Sun | 10am – 5pm
Our cafe serves light lunches and afternoon teas, or a selection of freshly home baked cakes, including a daily gluten free choice.
Please park on Church Lane and walk through the church yard, then straight on to come out opposite the garden gate.
We ask that groups of 6 or more please book with us first by contacting firstname.lastname@example.org
To help us preserve its charm, the garden does not permit dogs, other than assistance dogs.
(Please note the advice in the National Garden Scheme handbook that dogs are permitted is unfortunately incorrect.)
