Spotlight on leading landscaper Darren Stobbart

Founder and Managing Director of The Plantman & Co, Darren, has been a dedicated supporter of Perennial and a Platinum Partner for many years. Read about why the charity means so much to him and his team, and why he encourages everyone in horticulture to get involved with their industry charity.

How did you first hear about Perennial?

I have worked in horticulture all my life, so I was aware of Perennial from my day-to-day contact with people in the industry.  

Tell us more about how you support Perennial and why.

Perennial have been our nominated company charity since when I first formed the Plantman & Co. in 2015.  Supporting our own industry and colleagues is our way of saying thank you and it’s great to know that they will be there for me and my colleagures when needed.

I love my job, I love the industry, I love the people within it I have met, worked with and continue to work with. So, it makes sense to get behind the charity supporting people working in horticulture - Perennial deserves all the support it can get.

I encourage everyone in horticulture to get involved in whatever way you can. Recently I also provided the table centres for Perennial’s Dig Deep Fundraising lunch. It is always such a pleasure to help in any way I can and contributing in this way was an easy decision.

Of the services that Perennial provides, which do you feel is the most important?

Just being there, visible in the background. Knowing that if and when people need help and support, they can contact Perennial’s helpline or check out their free online tools.  Whoever they are within the industry, Perennial is there for them offering advice and support on anything at any time.
